Giving Back

We are proud to be able to give back to the Brantford and Hamilton community. This year we donated 500 bags. 100 bags to the Brantford General Hospital, 250 to Hamilton McMaster Hospital, 100 to Nova Vita (Brantford division) and 50 to the Brantford Police Station.
We want to give special thanks to the following companies for donating towards our cause:
Smile Makers donated 2 large boxes full of stuffed animals.
This year was a great success but want to hit 1,000 bags next year.
Brantford Hospital - DSS Trucking Services Ltd - gifts busy bags to Paediatric
Thank you so much to DSS Trucking Services Ltd. for their wonderfully generous donation of ‘busy bags‘ to the Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation for the BCHS Paediatric Department on Jan. 8th.
Darren Sheppard, the owner of DSS Trucking Services, has given back to local healthcare since 2013 after his own family’s positive experiences in the Paediatric Department at the BCHS gave them a personal insight into the importance of ‘busy bags’ for our younger hospital patients.
Busy bags have been proven to distract and calm younger patients during their stay in the Paediatric Department, so the Sheppard family and the team at DSS Trucking Services prepared 100 individual bags containing items such as a stuffed animal, a colouring book and crayons, pencils, activities and much more for our youngest patients.
